Warm Thoughts

It makes me very happy (almost to the point of tears) when people are generous and loving to my kids. When others see just how wonderful they are and try to make their day a little brighter. Today I took Sean to a gem and mineral show. There were shark's teeth and some fossils and plenty of cool rocks for him to look at and touch. He was in heaven. There was one booth where people could buy a geode (the rocks with pretty crystals inside) and the guy would use a huge pipe cutter to open it for them. We happened to be there when a lady was buying one so we stayed to watch. The man saw us and noticed how interested Sean was and asked Sean to come help him open it. He said he needed Sean's strong muscles to get that one opened. It took a bit and Sean was totally red in the face (even though the other guy was doing most of the work), but Sean was so pleased about it. He said "I didn't know I was that strong that I could break a rock open!" I was just so grateful to this stranger who made the gem show personal for my little 4 year old. People like that are a gift from Heaven to this mom.
