We went to a local children's museum last week. It's called Discovery Space of Central Pennsylvania. It was a fun place with some nice activities for the kids.
Sean testing the weight of different buckets.
The boys took turns building little log houses and then turning on a simulated earthquake to see how they would withstand the shaking.
I don't have a picture of it, but there was also a machine that could make a little tornado.
A beaver house. Inside had a video screen playing more information about beavers.
The boys checking out the flood table. They made some dams to see how that would change the water flow. They stayed here for a long time.
Matthew working on moving a ball through a maze. Parts of it, he had to use the magnetic bar to pull the ball through.
There was also a big sand/dirt box filled with "treasures" that kids could dig for. There were bones, shells, jewelry, pieces of pottery, feathers, and I think some other stuff I can't remember.
Another display showed some different rocks under a black light glowing different colors. There were different building stations too. It's a very hands on place which the boys totally love.
Sean and Matthew had a great time and didn't want to leave. We may have to go again while we're here. Thanks Nicki, for finding fun things for us to do here.
