Local Adventures

Jon had Monday off of work, so we got to spend the day together. It was wonderful!! Matthew was all recovered so we were ready to play! Sean came and told me that Matthew wasn't sick anymore because of his prayer. I love his care for his brother.

Here's the boys loving having their dad back!

Their room. Full of toys and smiles.
There's a desk in the room and Sean asked if there was some work for him to do at his desk since he hasn't done work for a while.

Jon took the kids for a walk around our place to see the ice on the ground. That reminded me of a part of the story I forgot from the day before. When we landed in Detroit there was snow on the ground and the kids were so excited. I told them we weren't going to play in it there, but there should be some snow in Pennsylvania too. When we landed in PA, there wasn't snow on the ground. Sean looked out the window and cried. Serious tears over the lack of snow! I tried to reassure him that it will snow here soon (I think the forecast promises some in a week). I couldn't believe how sad he was. Well, the walk seemed to help and they came back with stories of a frozen pond. Sean learned about not eating old snow off of the ground. We had some lunch, went grocery shopping, and then went to a park for an adventurous walk. It's a wooded park with lots of trails. We walked around for a while exploring lots of the trails, the boys wandered off the paths a bit to climb around on fallen trees or collect sticks, leaves, and walnut shells. I told Sean we could go there a lot for exercise and he told me "Yeah, and we could call it Exercising Forest." Another time I asked him to get back on the trail and he told me "but boys like to explore!" He's all boy I tell you. We left as it was started to get a little dark. Jon decided we needed some hot chocolate. We ended up at Dunkin' Donuts so we each got hot chocolate and a doughnut. :) The boys fell asleep on the way home.

Here's Matthew sacked out. We had to wake them up so they could eat dinner and so they would go to sleep that night. It was a great first full day. We're looking forward to lots of adventures and I'll be better about taking my camera to document them all.

Quote of the day by Sean with a smirk on his face: "I wonder if there are pencils in Pennsylvania."
