September was a full month!! We had an abundant harvest. I made lots of applesauce and dried so many asian pears. I made many, many loaves of zucchini bread. I froze a few of the strawberries and raspberries, but mostly those were eaten fresh because they are delicious that way.
I wasn't going to plant corn this year, but Matthew took it upon himself to plant a few seeds (even a popcorn kernel) and they did ok. We got 2 ears off each one. Matthew was so proud of his corn.
My dahlias did well this year. They bloomed for so long. I was able to share many with friends and neighbors. I grew some short sunflowers too. They were funny because they didn't get taller than 3 feet and I felt like they didn't follow the sun like other varieties. They were still beautiful!
School started! Matthew is in first grade and Sean is in third.
Home from the first day!
We get to have Matthew's very good friend come over often and they are just about the cutest things ever.
Sean and I went blackberry picking.
We rescued a stray kitten by the school. As we were taking her to the humane society, she was running all over the car (including on the dash board at one point).
Briella came for a quick visit with Nanna and Poppa. A trip to Poulsbo was in order!
My friend, Sara, moved in with us for a bit and she brought Mr. Purrington with her. He liked to explore in the cupboards. It was funny every damn time!
Sara and I would get crafty often. It was loads of fun. One project was leaf-flowers. It was the perfect time of year to collect colorful leaves and we were pretty pleased with how they turned out.

One of my cousins gave me an idea of finding things in the neighborhood in every color. Challenge accepted:
