April

The flowers in the front were so beautiful for a few weeks.

Spring break took us to spend time with family in Tacoma.

Holly and I took the kids to a park to kayak and play. It was quite the afternoon, but the kids were fantastic and we had a great time in the sun.

Matthew: "If you concentrate on the wind, it feels like happiness is hitting you."

We took a family walk one evening.

Matthew has been growing his hair out and some mornings his bed head is pretty epic.

He also started a Ninja Squad one day. In the morning he asked, "Do you want to join my ninja squad?" How could I say no?!

Things I want to remember about ninja squad:It started this morning with him telling me he was going to start it.He asked if I thought he should let grownups into his squad and I told him that was his decision. He invited me into his squad and started training me.Training involved: throwing shoes, tying ninja knots, knowing that you should always hide, and you should always listen to the birds. He wore a headband, belt, and leg band all day made from some leftover UW fabric. He was excited when his friend came over after school so he could do training with her too.

I took the boys to Point No Point one afternoon and they had fun adding to driftwood shelters.

They found one that was kind of dug out which was super cool.

We did a little geocaching. We were at a park where we looked for two, but only found one. We'll take what we can get!

Isn't life grand?!
