A Non-Emergency and a Nap

The other day, the kids and I went onto our deck to color and enjoy the pleasant weather. I pulled the door closed to keep the bugs from flying into the house. A while later, I sent Sean to go get a tissue to blow his nose. He hates to blow his nose so he put up a little fight, but then walked to the door and tried to open it. "It's locked!" Are you kidding?! I don't know how the door got locked, but there we were, stuck on the deck on the 2nd floor. There were a couple tender mercies going on that day though.
1. I had a bottle of water with us.
2. I had my phone with me.

It was about 4:15 and I called Jon and told him that there was no huge emergency, but if he could not work late and come home at 5, that would be great. I mean, we wouldn't have even noticed we were locked out if I hadn't told Sean to blow his nose. So we kept on coloring. We called a couple more people. I tried to pry the screen off the window to my bedroom, but I couldn't get it. Sean was very objectively telling us that we would be ok if it rained, because we were covered. He did ask if lightning could go sideways at get us, but I assured him we would be fine. Matthew kept asking me to call the firefighters to help us. He was pretty insistent on it. In fact, when Jon got home and looked through the window in the door Matthew was upset that he was not a firefighter. Sean shouted "We're saved!" I was thankful that it wasn't a true emergency and that I didn't have to jump off the deck to find help.

Yesterday I was making dinner and Matthew came to help. He and/or Sean will pull a chair up to the counter my the oven and help stir or just eat whatever fruit is in front of them. Matthew started working on an apple. What I was making needed to simmer for a while, so I got it going, then went into my room to check my email and watch some videos while I waited. The first time I went back to check on my food, this is what I found:

Matthew must have been pretty tired to fall asleep in this position. The apple was in his mouth too.

A while later, I went to check on dinner again and by then he must have slid off the chair or something. I'm not exactly sure, but I found him awake in this position:
