Reptiland

Jon and I took the kids to Reptiland last week. It was a lot of fun. We started by watching a movie about different reptiles. Then a guy came out and showed us a baby alligator and and snake (I think it was a kind of constrictor) and let us all touch them. Then he took us to where their adult alligators live. They sort of hibernate in the winter so they weren't moving much, but they were still pretty neat to see.

Then we went to see the other animals they have there.

Some huge tortoises.

"Hay!"

"Stop looking at me already"

This little alligator was just being fed some crickets. One of them jumped on top of the alligator's head.

This guy is called an Alligator Snapping Turtle. He seriously looked like he could be a dinosaur.
He has a weird organ in his mouth that looks like a wiggling worm that attracts small animals to swim into its mouth. Gross!

Sean was standing by some lizard and showing us what frills do.

Our chameleon friend.

We happened to be there when an employee brought out this little guy. He's a kinkajou. The trainer was nervous having so many people around him because these animals are not really people lovers. But he was sure cute holding little grapes and munching on them.

I love these brightly colored frogs!

Thanks again to Nicki for telling us about this place! It was worth the drive.

***Just added a video I forgot about from the day.
