Sean has had two loose teeth for months now. He's been wiggling and waiting for them to come out. On the day before his birthday, he lost his first tooth! I had been trying to help him get it looser for a couple days. When I picked him up from school he proudly showed me the gap on his lower gum. I asked him what happened. He said he was at recess and just pulled it out himself. I was so proud of him.
The tooth fairy doesn't come to our house, so Jon and I told him we would do something special for him later (since his birthday was the next day and he already had fun stuff to look forward to).

And since Matthew can't stand it if anyone else is getting photographed:
Sean is diligently doing his homework even while Matthew is giving him hugs.
A couple days after the first tooth fell out, the remaining loose tooth sort of shifted into the middle of the empty space. It was really funny looking, so of course I tried to get a picture of it.
A couple days later, I pulled that one out too.
