A couple years ago, Jon and I blew up a bunch of balloons and put them into Sean's room the night before his birthday. That was fun. This year, Jon and I thought it would be funny to put tape on Sean's door and see if he would run into it in the morning.
He and Matthew both saw it and climbed under it. They are both too clever for us!
Jon had built a desk for Sean and made a little treasure hunt for him to find it. He had snuck it into his room the night before, but while he was building it, he kept telling the kids it was for me.
He was a little confused that it was for him, but still so excited to have his own desk and workspace in his room.
Matthew liked helping pull the tape down.
Sean's "7" pancake
I've never let the kids have birthday parties because we have usually been around lots of family, and I'm lazy, so the idea of planning and prepping a party are overwhelming to me. But this year, I told Sean he could invite a couple friends over for a little party. We talked about what Sean would like to do and we made our preparations.
The kids had to find a way through the lasers. They went through a few times and then I timed them to see who could do it the fastest. I think Riley won.
The kids also had a nerf shootout. I didn't get any pictures of it, but they all took turns shooting some targets Sean made out of legos and some stacks of plastic cups. It was fun to watch them and Riley's little brother was the best shot. It was pretty awesome.
Presents are always fun!
I bet she's looking forward to her birthday next month!
Cake time!!
Sean got a Snap Circuit set and one of the things it had was a speaker that played Happy Birthday to You. He wanted to play that for us to sing along with. It played the song really fast so it was pretty funny trying to keep up.
I love my sweet boy! He is such a great part of our family. He loves music. He makes up songs all the time and he loves to dance. He's a great student and loves school. He is a deep thinker and impresses Jon and I with his ability to understand so many things. He is a great brother (most of the time). He is helpful and loving and I'm so happy to be him mom.
